Shall we create an experimental and chaotic concert using the everyday sounds and images of a city? That’s the idea of a musician and artist determined to turn everyday life into a grand show.

Interferència 02 [Interference 02], a new initiative from Marc Salicrú’s Teatres de Campanya project, is coming to the Barcelona Grec Festival, presenting a “city concert” bringing together Barcelona’s visible and invisible sounds and images:  urban battles, public works, siren wails and fireworks, imaginary tourists, municipal brigades, shouted proclamations, choral anthems, floral tributes, giant dances, trams, and iconic monuments...

The idea is to create a fleeting, chaotic, epic, and utopian hurricane that takes a public space by storm to celebrate us, to invite the public to wake up, come together, and reconnect with each other in an everyday context which often goes unnoticed. This is a can’t-miss extravagant celebration that collides with the past, present, and future through a contemporary mechanism rooted in real life.It encourages the public to look up and see the city from a new perspective, reimagining the everyday landscape. Time and space will be suspended for the duration of the concert.

Irony, absurdity, folklore, and festivity, alongside Brossa, Carles Santos, La Fura dels Baus, and all the influences of street art, briefly take over public spaces to craft a visual, auditory, and sensory performance that turns our daily lives into a show. If you want to see how the city is transformed into a musical score, don’t miss Interferència 2 from the Teatres de Campanya project. It’s all the brainchild of Marc Salicrú (and all the collaborations you can imagine), an intermedia artist, lighting designer, set designer, and musician from Mataró. He holds a degree in stage design from the Institut d’Art Dramàtic de Barcelona (ESAD, Institut del Teatre, 2015), trained in soundpainting and manual bell ringing, and was selected to participate in the World Event Young Artists (WEYA 2019) at the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Salicrú also plays with The Free Fall Band (El Segell del Primavera Sound) and is the founder and co-director of the VVAA Collective. He frequently collaborates with Marcos Morau, and has also worked with visual artists such as Jaume Plensa and renowned figures in theatre such as Andrés Lima.

A co-production of Grec Festival de Barcelona, FiraTàrrega - Suport a la Creació, Mercè Arts de Carrer, Bonvehí Arts, Homs Rentals and Teatres de Campanya - Marc Salicrú.

In cooperation with Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), Parcs i Jardins, Guàrdia Urbana and Bombers de Barcelona and Betevé and La Xarxa.
