A project to tackle gender violence against migrant women wins the 25 November AwardThe winning project for the 25 November Award has been announced as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The award recognises initiatives in the struggle against different forms of male violence towards women in various fields, this year’s focus being on migrant women.
Eleven projects took part in the 14th edition of the 25 November Award. The projects come from the fields of research, creation, visibility, awareness and citizen and collective rejection of the gender violence suffered by migrant women.
The winning project is a guide for working and community intervention to tackle gender violence against migrant women, by the Cooperativa T.I.C.T.A.C. SCCL. The goal of the project is to put together a series of guidelines and recommendations based on the experience of migrant women, who will be taking part in five workshops where content, messages and images will be developed.
The award is worth 15,000 euros and is part of the Citizen Agreement for a Barcelona Free of Violence towards Women. For the last 14 years, the 25 November Award has been distinguishing projects which combat gender violence, focusing on a wide array of topics, from young collectives to social media and harassment in public space.
