All the sport in the city within reach
Barcelona has numerous places where you can be active and get moving, from the woods of Collserola to the beaches on the coast. Discover the many options, resources and services for pursuing sport outdoors.
Sports circuits
These public spaces are located all around the city, in parks, avenues and other outdoor spaces. They feature signage with information and practical tips and there’s no need to book. You’ll find them in all districts. Discover them!
Gymnastics circuits
These are a good option for engaging in physical exercise outdoors: callisthenics allows for toning exercises and stretching. Some circuits are specifically designed for elderly people.
Get active in the parks
This is the health programme for being active with others, recommended for the over-40s but everybody is welcome. It includes two types of activity: oriental gymnastics and movement and memory.
Barnatresc
This project offers a calendar of walks to share kilometres and culture, enjoying walking under the guidance of the Associació d’Entitats Excursionistes del Barcelonès (AEEB).
Urban sport parks
Action sports take centre stage and lovers of skateboarding, BMX, roller skates and hand scooters also have their place in the city around the five urban sports parks.
Sports among children of school age
Youngsters also have access to a wide array of resources for physical activity during school hours and beyond. Besides staying in shape, work also focuses on sporting values.
Inclusive sport
Functional diversity does not hold people back from doing sport. Municipal sports centres, schools, public spaces and municipal services offer a varied range of options conceived to guarantee inclusion. Nobody stays at home!
Municipal sports facilities
There are a hundred sports centres and swimming pools located around all the city’s districts. They offer a decent number of supervised activities, but users can also exercise individually.
Pavelló Blau
The seafront covers a distance of five kilometres and includes as many as 17 schools and 46 different spaces, marine areas and sports facilities. The Pavelló Blau project aims to turn this area into a grand scenario for sport in the city. Over 40 different regulated sports activities will be organised there, on the beach, in the water and on land, with the area hosting dozens of important city sports activities.
You can find details for all these options on Barcelona City Council’s sports website.
