The programme for the Festival 42 includes over seventy activities, with talks, workshops, recitals and interviews revolving around topics such as mythology, robots, post-humanism, feminism and horror, which will be engaging with other narratives such as videogames, film and comics.

This first edition also pays homage to science-fiction classics, such as Douglas Adams and Stanisław Lem, who has an exhibition devoted to him at the Ignasi Iglésias – Can Fabra library. Elsewhere, at the Fabra i Coats, there’s a chance to visit the exhibition ‘Robot dreams: 100 years imagining artificial beings’, which combines texts by specialists in the genre with the drawings of the comic book illustrator Albert Monteys.

Another of the pillars of the festival will be the 42 awards on Saturday, 6 November, to be presented to the best works published in this genre last year.
