Commitment to disseminate the legacy of Pau Casals at music and art schools
The Barcelona Municipal Institute of Education (IMEB) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Fundació Pau Casals to pursue joint activities and promote the musical and artistic figure of one of the most universal names in Catalan culture.
The first agreement was signed for the period 2012-2016 and has now been retrieved, with a new agreement in force until 2023 and the option of being extended for a further two years.
The Barcelona Municipal Music Conservatory will present concerts for the Fundació Pau Casala, and students from municipal music schools and the Conservatory will offer concerts at the Museu Pau Casals to promote the musical and humanistic figure of Casals.
Specific activities include an annual concert promoted by the Fundació Pau Casals, to be included in the Thursday concert cycle organised by the Conservatory, as well as talks, workshops, masterclasses and other activities offered by musicians from the foundation to make the most of their being at the Conservatory.
