Among the activities in the extensive programme for the Global Public Transport Summit, the City Council will be offering the chance of a technical visit to the Municipal Services Centre. This facility supervises mobility in the city and handles urgent incidents in public space which require services to be activated in the city with the support and communication of emergency services.

Organised by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), the congress is being held at Fira de Barcelona’s site in Gran Via from 4 to 7 June. The event is devoted to sustainable mobility and features 335 stands where visitors can discover the latest in innovation, solutions and products linked to public transport and sustainable mobility.

The three main local public transport operators, FGC, TMB and RENFE, will be sharing a stand under the slogan ‘We move Barcelona. We move Catalonia’, with talks and round tables on sustainability, energy efficiency, accessibility and rail heritage.

Barcelona’s Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) will also be an exhibitor, with a stand under the slogan ‘Barcelona’s transportation made easy’, and as the sponsor for the welcome reception. For its part, the public company BSM will also have a stand, under the slogan ‘Creating your future mobility’, explaining its contribution to new mobility in Barcelona through services such as Bicing, Endolla, the BSM car park network and tech applications such as SMOU and SPRO.
