The adapted bathing service for people with disabilities has had to adopt measures in response to the Covid-19 health emergency and the condition of the city’s beaches after Storm Gloria. To ensure the health and safety measures, the capacity of the assisted bathing area will be limited to 15 people, with a distance of 1.5 metres between them, and appointments will be needed. Bathing will be supervised by the usual technical staff with the support of a personal assistance service.

This year sees the service extend its operating days and times to offer daily bathing from 4 July to 27 September, from 11 am to 3 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm. Users are advised to take somebody with them, preferably their usual carer.

The assisted bathing areas have parking spaces available and offer accessible routes to the beach, visual and tactile signage, adapted baths and showers, changing rooms, amphibious seats, lifting apparatus, lifejackets, sunshades and technical staff to help people with reduced mobility bathe in the sea.
