Today sees the beginning of the selection process for the first fifteen start-ups that are to be set up in the 22@ district’s Almogàvers Incubator, a permanent platform for meetings between the entrepreneurial and innovative community linked to the sector que offering support for business model definitions and specifications.

The selected projects will have a space at their disposal for six months, accompanied by Barcelona Activa’s expert teams as well as professionals from the sector. This is the time regarded as necessary for being able to create a feasible and sustainable business model in the real of creative industries. What is more, the programme will also be offering exclusive leadership, project-digitalisation and ecosystem-connectivity training and workshops.

This development of the Creamedia programme will enable the sector’s entrepreneurial and innovative projects to be identified and act as a support tool for creating enterprises and start-ups, which will find a useful space there and be able to test out their products and have a calendar of activities. In addition, the aim is to create a network of former students to expand the number of public and private members and bolster the programme.

The creative business network in Barcelona represents 12.2% of the economy and concentrates 49.5% of the sector’s jobs in Catalonia.
