UNICEF has been working in Ukraine for 25 years. Since the conflict worsened, the organisation has been in the front line in the humanitarian response, within the country and in neighbouring countries, to reach the seven and a half million children at risk. UNICEF provides healthcare, education, protection and access to safe water to save the lives of young children and families during these very uncertain times.

Businesses from the city provided support by contributing funds. The money raised will be used for UNICEF programmes on the ground, to help cover the needs of Ukrainian children and families.

The initiative comes in addition to various municipal actions created since the start of the war. The Refuge City website contains information on the municipal service involved in managing the humanitarian crisis, along with answers to FAQs and information to efficiently channel financial support for NGOs working on the ground.
