Via Laietana closed for resurfacing on Sunday,15 June

One of the final stages of the revamp to Via Laietana is being carried out this weekend, with the resurfacing of the section where work is in progress, between Pl. Antoni Maura and Pg. Colom. As a result, this section will be closed to traffic on Sunday, 15 June.

The process begins on Saturday with the initial milling work in the side lanes, already closed during the work. This will be followed by a complete road closure on Sunday, with the milling process and surfacing of the entire street section.

The road closure will affect the only descending lane in operation during the work, cutting the through traffic that would otherwise use the roads that intersect Via Laietana. Once the resurfacing is completed, the ascending lane will remain closed to traffic for work to create the bike lane. The situation will continue until the conclusion of the work.

Disruptions to bus routes

Bus routes will be affected. Lines 47, 59, V15 and V17, which all go down Via Laietana, will be diverted along C/ Trafalgar, Pg. Lluís Companys, C/ Comerç, Pg. Picasso, Av. Marquès de l’Argentera and Pla de Palau, to then continue their usual routes.

The road closure will also affect bus 120, which will be diverted along Pg. Picasso, Av. Marquès de l’Argentera and Pg. Colom. All bus services that go down Via Laietana will regain their usual routes from Monday, 16 June.
