On-site neighbourhood council sessions resume

Neighbourhood council sessions are to be held in person in the autumn in outdoor public spaces, municipal courtyards or facilities. Participants should reserve places in advance and numbers of attendees will be controlled to ensure safety distances. The sessions for the neighbourhoods in Ciutat Vella will be held between now and 13 October. These meetings had to be suspended due to the pandemic and are now resuming to enable people to participate, overcoming any technological barriers preventing some from taking part in virtual formats.

The upcoming sessions are:

  • 30 September: Barri Gòtic
  • 7 October: El Raval
  • 8 October: Barceloneta
  • 13 October: Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i La Ribera.

In line with the recommendations from the health authorities, instead of publicly announcing the location where sessions are to be held, people who sign up to participate will be notified individually to help control capacities. In the case of the meetings in Ciutat Vella, people have until a few days before the session to sign up by sending an email to participaciocvella@bcn.cat.

The meetings in the rest of the city’s neighbourhoods may have on-site or mixed formats, taking into account the needs, weather conditions and measures established by the health authorities at all times. In the case of mixed formats, people can take part from home via the municipal digital participation platform Decidim Barcelona. The idea is for all neighbourhood sessions in the city to be held in the autumn.
