Two million euros invested in sports facilities in Gràcia
The main projects were at the Camp de l’Àliga and Nou Sardenya municipal football grounds, and at the Creueta del Coll and Josep Comellas sports centres. Work included replacing lighting, improving and renewing different element such as goals and stands, plus a complete renovation of courts. In all, the various projects represent a major boost for the district’s sports facilities, with 1,969,757,33 euros invested between 2019 and 2021.
The following work was carried out:
- Camp de l’Àliga municipal football ground: change of lighting, opting for LED technology and offering greater efficiency and quality of light, change of artificial turf and watering system, plus renewal of other elements such as dugouts and goals.
- Nou Sardenya municipal football ground: improvements to the pitch, changing rooms and offices, and renewal of lighting with LED technology. The playing surface will also be replaced this summer, through a project with a budget of 375,328,80 euros, to be carried out by the Barcelona Institute of Sports (IBE).
- Creueta del Coll sports centre: renovation of the roof, improvement to playing surfaces and renewal of lighting with LED technology.
- Josep Comellas sports centre: renewal of air-conditioning and lighting with LED technology.
The works and the renewal of the lighting form part of the Energy Improvement Plan for Municipal Buildings (PEMEEM), the goal being energy savings and the introduction of renewable energies in buildings and municipal facilities.
Agreement with sports organisations have also been strengthened, while petanque courts, health circuits and callisthenics spaces have been renewed and sports activities in the district promoted.
