The Olympic Ring gears up for a record-breaking 2023 with over 140 events

Over 140 events are scheduled at the Olympic Stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi and the Sant Jordi Club in 2023, with a programme expected to double the numbers for 2022 and attract the highest figure in a decade with 1,400,000 visitors. Concerts should number 116, eight of which will fill the Olympic Stadium, with entertainment classics also revived and new events held. The stadium will also be home to FC Barcelona for the 2023-2024 season.

The main increase is in the number of concerts planned, with the total of 116 representing a 60% rise compared to 2022. This will also be the first time in the Olympic Stadium’s 30-year history that it gets filled eight times in a single year, hosting musical performances. Performing will be Coldplay (4 days), Bruce Springsteen (with a double concert), Harry Styles and The Weekend. The Palau Sant Jordi and the Sant Jordi Club will be the setting for performances by numerous renowned national and international artists, such as Robbie Williams, Elton John, The Who, Blink-182, Bad Gyal, Lola Índigo, Maroon 5, Quevedo, Joaquín Sabina, Oques Grasses and La Pegatina.

Entertainment classics such as Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil and Trial Indoor, will all be back in 2023, while new events such as the Barcelona Eurovision Party will be held for the first time at the Sant Jordi Club, helping it to grow.

The Olympic Ring will continue to organise social, educational and family events, such as the STEAM Ring, a day of scientific dissemination activities aimed at students from different schools in Barcelona and its metropolitan area in February, and Dansa Ara, the big contemporary dance event aimed at local school children aged six to eight, which will be celebrating its thirtieth anniversary next year.

The cultural, sporting and leisure activities planned for the Olympic Ring for 2023 will run alongside those of FC Barcelona, whose men’s first team matches will be played in the Olympic Stadium from August 2023. The football club’s activities will at all times be compatible with other cultural, sporting and civic uses of the Olympic Ring and the other facilities on the mountain of Montjuïc.
