Do you know what Barcelona Opportunity Week is?

Barcelona Opportunity Week is being held from 21 February to 1 March and offers a package of activities and offers on transport, accommodation, shopping, gastronomy, restaurants and culture for visitors who were supposed to be coming for the Mobile World Congress, as well as locals, nationals and Europeans. The campaign came about after a meeting with different operators and economic stakeholders in the city, coordinated by Turisme de Bartcelona under the slogan ‘Come to Barcelona. Now’s the time’.

With over 150 establishments and operators taking part, the campaign features offers in the following spheres:

  • Commerce: shops and establishments will be offering 20% discounts on a selection of items. At the city’s markets, La Boqueria is organising a brunch and the Mercat de la Concepció a tasting.
  • Transport: RENFE, the local train operator, is offering 35% discounts on national journeys with Barcelona as their destination. Vueling and the TAV City Network will also be joining in with the campaign with different offers.
  • Accommodation: the city’s hotels are applying discounts on bookings made directly on their websites, as well as organising open meetings with associated activities. Discounts of 20% will be applied on tourist apartments.
  • Restaurants: participating restaurants are offering special fixed-price menus.
  • Culture: admission of two people for the price of one at participating centres such as museums and cultural facilities and other museums belonging to the municipal network.

As the campaign continues to take shape over the coming days, other initiatives will be added. A website has been set up with information on all the offers and will be available as from Friday 21 February.
