Work to cover the Ronda de Dalt resumes between Vallcarca and the Institut Vall d’Hebron

A new stage of work is under way to cover the Ronda de Dalt ringroad in Horta-Guinardó, between the IES Vall d’Hebron and Av. Vallcarca. This stage consists of constructing the wall and the emergency exits, in progress since last summer, plus the preliminary work to cover the road. One lane of traffic will be closed in each direction between exits 5 and 6 from Monday, 14 July, to 4 September.

The work will require the road to be closed, so on Sunday night the lanes in the direction of the Besòs will be closed from 10.30 om to 5.30 am, and then during the same hours in the direction of the Llobregat the night after. In order to keep traffic disruptions to a minimum, the two side lanes nearest the mountains will be reopened soon, as will the roundabout at C/ Arenys, with the pavement on the side lanes nearest the mountains here also to follow later.

Covering this section between Av. Vallcarca and the IES Vall d’Hebron will provide continuity for the section already covered between the Mercat de la Vall d’Hebron and the school, adding a covered section of 540 metres that will be transformed into a new surface space for public use.

The work should be completed in May 2027. The budget for the first stage is 12 million euros for the structure and 20 million euros for the cover, the installations and the finishings for the tunnel. The new surface space will then be conditioned according to proposals from the participatory process.
