Four hundred establishments have already received advice for resuming their businesses

The Comerç a Punt programme is providing personalised and free support for restaurants, clothes shops and supermarkets, among other places, to help them with analysing their business model and implementing new sales, marketing, showcasing, interior-design, funding and tax models. The specific plans for combating the effects of the pandemic are being implemented with support from experts visiting the businesses

Of the total number of establishments taking part in the programme since July 2020, more than half are from the Sant Martí, Sant Andreu, Eixample and Ciutat Vella districts. The latter, in fact, is the one that stands out the most, with close to a fifth of the shops that have received advice.

The programme, which Barcelona Activa is also taking part in, is part of the financial aid from the Financial Coordination and Response Centre (CECORE), which was launched following the new economic situation and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the city’s economy. Shops that wish to take part in it can do so through the website or by emailing to proximitat@barcelonactiva.cat.

Boosting the digitalisation of shops

The Comerç a Punt programme is part of a package of broader business-support measures, which includes advice for creating digital plans and access to a training catalogue with more than fifty online courses. The previous year saw the Barcelona Business Support Office attend to more than three hundred establishments, with plans adapted to each business.
