Two fairs in one to adapt the economy and the labour market to the post-pandemic scenario

Trade fair activity returns to the city with a double event for people interested in entrepreneurialism and job opportunities. Hall 8 at the Montjuïc trade fair facilities will be hosting BizBarcelona and the Saló de l’Ocupacion (employment fair) from 21 to 23 September. The event combines an on-site format, where all the essential safety and prevent measures will apply, with a wide range of online activities.

The double event signals the resumption of trade fair activity in the city, with a clear goal of boosting economic activity and adapting businesses, the labour market and talent to the new scenario brought about by the pandemic.

Both events maintain the focus on their own programme of activities but converge in terms of tools, resources, guidance and useful training proposals for businesspeople, the self-employed, SMEs, start-ups, jobseekers and people interested in a career change or working for themselves.

Admission to the fair is free. Prior registration is needed for both fairs.

Broad range of online activities

Much of the content can be found online, meaning the two fairs will have a broader impact than the dates and programmes of the on-site event. Online content includes:

  • Online reproduction of the most notable conferences
  • Online assessment
  • Training capsules, webinars and activities via internet

The “Sí i millor” skills and talent job fair will also be held with the BizBarcelona and Saló de l’Ocupació fairs. This event is organised by the FECETC federation of special work centres and was originally to be held in March. Its goal is to facilitate the labour insertion of people with disabilities and help companies meet the legal obligation of reserving 2% of jobs for this collective.
