Second office of the Care, Recovery and Reception Service (SARA) to be located in L’Eixample
The government commission of 21 March gave initial approval to the project to condition the premises at C/ Muntaner, 200, in the district of L’Eixample, to house a new office for the Care, Recovery and Reception Service (SARA). The new office will be the second facility in the city for this specialist service, which helps women who suffer male violence. The service already has an office in Nou Barris.

The renovation project for the new office for the Care, Recovery and Reception Service (SARA) has a budget of 1,773,937.74 euros, which will be used to condition a space of nearly 900 square metres.
Around 415 square metres will be used for spaces to attend to women, with individual soundproof support rooms to guarantee privacy and spaces for group activities and assistance. The working space for staff at the centre will use around 340 square metres of floor space, with offices and meeting rooms.
The work is expected to start at the end of the summer this year and completed in September 2025, with the service to start operating at the new premises at the start of 2026.
What is the Care, Recovery and Reception Service (SARA)?
The SARA is a specific municipal support service for women, children and teenagers who experience male violence. It also offers support to people close to victims, plus advice for professionals linked with the provision of assistance in cases of sexist violence. The service is mainly provided through individual support and group sessions.
