Mobility and prevention recommendations for Catalan National Day 2020

Various events are being organised for Catalan National Day on Friday, 11September, conditioned this year by the Covid-19 health emergency. Given the current context, people are advised to follow the events from home where possible and to be extra careful with preventive measures if attending in person. Concentrations will be static, with the organisers controlling the number of people attending. Forty bus routes will be disrupted.

Disruptions to public transport due to various ceremonies and concentrations being organised:

  • In the morning, from 6 am to 2 pm, the bus routes diverted will be: D50, H16, 19 and 62.
  • In the afternoon there will be disruption to bus and metro services:
    • From 2 pm to 9 pm, changes and limitations to the bus routes: D40, D50, H2, H6, H8, H10, H12, H16, V7, V13,  V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V29, 7, 11, 19, 22, 24, 27, 34, 39, 47, 52, 54, 55, 59, 62, 63, 67, 78, 96, 109, 114, 115, 122 and 133.
    • The metro stops which are expected to be busiest are Universitat (L1/L2), Catalunya (L1/L3), Fabra i Puig (L1), Passeig de Gràcia (L2/L3/L4), Sants Estació (L3/L5) and Joanic (L4).

What measures should be adopted at concentrations?

Concentrations will be static, with the organisers controlling the number of people attending. If you’re attending an event in person, remember to stick to the prevention measures to reduce the risk of infection:

  • Face masks obligatory.
  • Distances of 1.5 metres between people.
  • Frequent handwashing with soap and hand sanitiser.
  • No eating or drinking.
  • No using urban furniture.
  • No sharing objects such as placards.

Given the current Covid-19 crisis, people are being advised to avoid making journeys and to follow the events for Catalan National Day from home.
