A major new feature in the third edition of the campaign ‘Impulsem el que fas’[We back what you do] is a new category for commerce and other enterprises developing sustainable agro-food models and setting up in empty privately owned premises in the neighbourhoods of Les Roquetes and Trinitat Nova.

The grants are intended to support projects promoting local products at municipal markets, cooperative supermarkets, community allotments, platforms distributing farm produce and other initiatives.

The projects presented cannot be exactly the same as last year and must guarantee quality work contracts, with minimum wages (at least 1,088 euros gross per month) and durations (minimum of six months).

There is also a category for tourism projects which boost economic activity in the neighbourhoods, promote quality employment and strengthen the social return and consolidation of tourism in the different areas. Another category focuses on digital social innovation, helping to foster companies and entities with a local social impact through their use of technology.

Fostering the social economy and public interest

The campaign ‘Enfortim l’Economia Social i Solidària’ [Strengthening the social and solidarity economy] is aimed at projects by third sector entities and companies, cooperatives, representatives and organisations from the SSE and ethical finance sector and others, started in 2019 and lasting a maximum for 12 months.

Special emphasis is placed on the fields of training and ongoing support, cooperation, communication and research, to be replicated in the field of the social economy and important for social transformation.

Ten information sessions are being organised at different facilities around the city between 26 April and 16 May to explain the requisites and process for applying for the subsidies.
