The epicentre for the fifth edition of Barcelona Innova Week will be Ca l’Alier, with the city’s urban innovation centre hosting most of the programmed activities.

This year’s event also enjoys collaboration from twenty organisations in the city’s innovation ecosystem, such as the Fab Lab Network, the MUHBA, Straddle3, Lichen social innovation, ISGlobal, Aiguasol, Sostre Cívic, the Escola Superior d’art i disseny Llotja and others.

Through various workshops, walks, visits and activities, members of the public will be able to get first-hand experience of projects such as the participatory production of affordable and sustainable housing for young people, the creation of sustainable posters using biomaterials, courtesy of CIBICO, the use of digital manufacturing to create a vertical garden and the use of drones to manage capacities at beaches etc.

There’s also a chance to discover TAKATÀ, the new brand of 100% handmade bags and rucksacks from Barceloneta, using sails and plastics recovered from the nautical and maritime sector of our coastline.
