Projects seeking subsidies must respond to the two challenges proposed: to boost the local economy and to improve urban sustainability and resilience.

The total value of the call is 500,000 euros, with subsidies of up to 80% for winning projects with budgets no greater than 100,000 euros and which can be executed within a year at most.

The call offers financial and technical support to develop and execute projects to generate urban change with a quantifiable social return, and which are aimed at achieving positive and measurable impacts for Barcelona and its people.

The target groups are SMEs, universities, research and innovation centres, foundations, cooperatives, the civil society and start-ups.

Projects must fall within the priority areas identified for 2020, such as local commerce, employment, education and care work, culture and the creative industries, consumption models and habits, urban decarbonisation, housing and the neighbourhood.

Projects are to be presented via the Fundació BIT Habitat website from the end of this week, with the application period to close a month later.
