The new features will be tested to assess whether they should be introduced in other terraces and areas around schools.

Clearly defined terraces

The structure consists of a wooden platform which effectively extends the pavement and sets out the extended terrace area on the road surface.

The platform is being tested at a restaurant on the corner between C/ València and C/ Casanova.

More life in areas around schools

The traffic-calmed area around the Escola Sagrada Família is being used to try out a wooden stand for sitting on, for recreational activity and the promotion of children’s play next to schools.

The new features were designed by the ELISAVA and the IAAC.
