The aim of the projects is to improve the quality of life of the people taking part, basically residents of the districts with the biggest socioeconomic inequalities (lowest incomes and highest unemployment rate), people over 40 and 55 and people receiving the minimum insertion income or guaranteed citizen income.

Between 2017 and 2018, 48% of the participants found work after following an insertion programme, which provides them with new knowledge that can open up avenues to a job and specialist guidance on finding stable, quality employment with decent pay and conditions.

New call

The new call for comprehensive recruitment projects will be announced during the final quarter of the year. Besides consolidating this new employment model for vulnerable groups, the programme will include measures for maintaining a work-life balance and broaden access to the job market for people with functional diversity.

The main spheres of work in the new call will be:

  • Arranging and maintaining facilities and public spaces
  • Environment and urban sustainability: cleaning and adapting public spaces
  • Community services: animation and social cohesion
  • Promoting economic activity, tourism and commerce
  • Information and communication technologies
