Webinar cycle ‘Barcelona never stops: Let’s reactivate the economy!’
A series of measures are being rolled out to tackle the economic crisis caused by Covid-19, the goal being to regenerate the city’s social and economic fabric and speed up the economy. A cycle of webinars is being organised to help citizens find out about what tools are in place, discover the most suitable ones for each type of economic activity and even learn how to access them.
The webinar cycle ‘Barcelona never stops: Let’s reactivate the economy!’ consists of online information sessions where municipal chiefs and experts from various fields will explain the tools available to help reactivate economic activity and, at the same time, respond to any doubts that may arise.
The registration period is now open for the first sessions, which will be held in October and November and cover the following topics: commerce, tourism, markets, business, promotion of the city and organisations from the social and solidarity economy (SSE). You can sign up here.
“The social and solidarity economy never stops: How are we helping the SSE?”
Explanatory session on how the SSE and public policies to promote this sector are providing responses to the socio-economic crisis. During the conversation we will be detailing the measures in place to maintain and re-launch activity in the SSE in the city.

“Barcelona never stops”
The First Deputy Mayor, Jaume Collboni, will be addressing the city’s international community to explain the measures being worked on to re-launch the city’s economy, notably the activities aimed at this community.
The conference opens the annual Barcelona Expat Week, which is on from 19 to 25 October this year.

“Barcelona’s self-employed professionals never stop”
This session will explain the municipal measures for the self-employed from the city’s international community, for whom linguistic and cultural barriers can cause difficulty at times when it comes to keeping up with business services and support available.
The session forms part of Barcelona Expat Week, which is on from 19 to 25 October this year.
When: Thursday 22 October, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am
“Opportunities to improve local commerce: digitalisation and web market”
At present, and particularly after recent events, the volume of online business continues to grow. Neighbourhood shops and restaurants need to make the most of the opportunity and adapt to the new system to stay competitive.
This session will identify the key elements for the digital transformation of establishments, as well as the municipal resources available to make this possible.

“Tourism reset. New scenario, new opportunities”
The Covid-19 crisis has hit tourism around the world, opening up an unprecedented scenario of uncertainty.
Barcelona is working to get this strategic economic sector back on track through measures to provide support for businesses and stimulate consumption. The city has also defined a roadmap for the medium and long term, a strategy which seeks to take advantage of the potential of the culture and the creative industries as a way of driving the recovery and providing the backbone for a more aspiring tourism model, with a bigger and better legacy for the city as a whole.
When: Wednesday 4 November, from 10 am to 11.30 am
“Barcelona’s economy never stops”
This session explains the municipal measures to reactivate the economy by helping companies and the self-employed. The conversation will look at the city government’s Talent measure, the need for people to get better training and improve their professional skills, the B-Crèdits micro loans and gender-oriented programmes such as Lidera. The session will also look at the various programmes and services offered by Barcelona Activa for entrepreneurs in the city.

“Employment in Barcelona never stops”
This session outlines municipal action being carried out to generate quality employment. The emphasis will be on the shock plan to combat youth unemployment, as well as the different Barcelona Activa services and programmes available for citizens to improve their professional skills.
When: Wednesday 11 November, from 12.30 pm to 2 pm
“Municipal measures to reactivate markets”
Session to present and debate the various measures implemented since the start of the pandemic with those directly involved with municipal markets, from market associations to staff from the IMMB.
