Stronger communication between the city police and elderly people living aloneOver the period of home confinement caused by the Covid-19 emergency, the Vincles service is strengthening communication with its 2,400 users. As of Monday, 30 March, the programme has a new digital link with the city police so that elderly people living alone can contact them regarding safety and prevention at home.
As from Monday, 30 March, the city police will be handling daily enquiries from users of the VinclesBCN service, a programme run by the City Council for elderly people living alone and helping them maintain social bonds with relatives and other users.
The new communication channel between the police and the 2,400 people who use Vincles will provide a response to questions relating to safety and prevention at home, information on precautionary measures against possible fraud and other matters.
As with the new health channel to answer queries relating to Covid-19, the city police channel is organised into 21 groups of users, most of them over 65, the collective which is most at risk when it comes to Covid-19.
