Most summer activities for children and teenagers are now under way and will run until 5 September. In all, 359,236 places have been offered on more than a thousand activities offering recreation, sport, themed activities and family options, with the programme “T’estiu molt”.

Options are varied and range from the Olímpia sports camp to summer nursery school activities for the under-3s, as well as camps, summer schools, musical arts workshops and family activities.

The goal is to favour work-life balance for families and promote values such as coexistence and respect for the environment, fostering fun and entertainment.

Financial support for families

The City Council offers subsidies for families in vulnerable situations, ensuring that all children and teenagers can take part.

The municipal government has allocated 5.1 million euros to cover demand and awarded 21,383 subsidies, of which 18,140 (nearly 85%) correspond to subsidies covering 90% of the total cost of the activity.

It has also approved 264 organisations to run the total number of 1,057 activities being offered.

Joves de Barcelona will also be offering a specific programme of summer activities for youngsters between the ages of 12 and 18. The campaign “Estiu Adoles100!” offers over a hundred one-off free activities for teenagers and young people to have a good time, discover new passions and meet new people.

Activities will be carried out between 30 June and 18 July in different city neighbourhoods. Theatre, cookery and clay workshops, activities linked to International LGBTI Pride Day, afternoon table-tennis tournaments and role-play games are just a few of the wide range of options to enjoy this summer in the city.

Promoting inclusion

To guarantee that children with disabilities and intensive support needs can enjoy summer activities, 1,7 million euros has also been earmarked for subsidies to offer places with special support.

The 2024 call enabled support to be provided for 1,279 children, who took part in activities run by 99 organisations.
