An energy transition office aimed at SMEs

An agreement has been reached with the Business Association for Small and Medium-sized Companies in Catalonia (PIMEC) to create an Energy Transition Office for SMEs, micro-companies and the self-employed. The office is expected to handle between 200 and 400 requests a year for advice and support to facilitate the energy transition and the real achievement of goals linked to sustainability.

The main fields of action for the new office will focus on technical advice, administration and funding queries, plus ongoing project support. The facility will also offer technical solutions for solar panelling to produce power for self-consumption, insulation and doors and windows, heating and air-conditioning, renewables, domotics, safety and accessibility.

The Energy Transition Office will offer advice for companies wishing to take part in the MES Barcelona project, an initiative by the City Council to speed up the energy transition in the city based on investment in solar panels and energy renovations.

Energy efficiency is a global challenge which must be met, given the effects of climate change, the need for more sustainable energy consumption and the goal of zero emissions set by the EU for 2050.
