These micro loans are mainly aimed at commerce, hospitality, tourism, the creative industries, care work, education, sport, self-employed women and businesswomen who have suffered the effects of the crisis caused by the pandemic.

The loans can be applied for through Citizen Help and Information Offices (OAE), Barcelona Activa or telematically, via the website barcelonactiva.cat/bcredits, where the necessary documentation and information will be collected.

BCrèdits are the result of collaboration between the City Council, the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF) and Avalis de Catalunya.

Loan conditions

The loans are for the sum of 12,500 euros and will be for a period of five years, with a one-year period of grace included. The micro loans will be guaranteed 100% by the Catalan mutual guarantee society and Avalis, which will have access to a contribution of two million euros from Barcelona City Council. The beneficiaries of the sureties must be constituted as members of Avalis through membership dues of 200 euros.

These conditions are valid until 31 December 2020 and will subsequently be reviewed from 2021 to adapt to the market conditions applied by Avalis and the ICF for this type of operation at that time.

A new measure from the economic reactivation plan

This line of micro loans forms part of the economic reactivation plan being implemented by the Economic Response Coordination Centre (CECORE), created at the start of the pandemic to reactivate the city economy.
