The subsidy call Locals amb Energia has a budget of two million euros and will help between 600 and 700 shops and businesses obtain up to 3,000 euros towards elements such as automatic doors to avoid the loss of temperature-controlled air, LED technology to optimise lighting, systems to regulate temperatures and more. The idea is to make their premises more sustainable and efficient in their use of energy and less reliant on natural gas, improving the results of their commercial activity.

Commercial establishments entitled to apply for the subsidy include shops at street level, services, restaurants in ground-floor premises, including establishments at municipal markets and particularly aimed at small-scale commerce in city streets.

Subsidies can be applied for on the Barcelona Activa website up until 31 October 2023 or until the budget is used up.
