This year’s Barcelona Producció presents fifteen projects by different artists, with What the Cell! Una mirada macro a la unitat de la vida, by Teresa Rubio, as a mediation project to guide various artistic projects by the community at La Capella.

This edition gets under way with an exhibition by Luciá C. Pino entitled ‘Makemebelieve Neuromancer’, on until 30 May 2021. The artist has displayed her work in places such as Arco, Dialica, Et-hall and the CCCC, with exhibitions in New York, Milan and Sydney. She was also named the best Spanish artist in 2020 by DKV- Swab.

The projects chosen for the 2021-2022 edition are intended to make spectators reflect on topics such as the critical analysis of technological advances, ecological awareness and the idea of community.

Besides Lucía C. Pino and Teresa Rubio, Barcelona Producció 2021-2022 features work by Gerard Ortín, Oscar Holloway, Christian Alonso, Jaume Ferrete, Mercè Ortega, Julián Pacomio, NeuroDungeon, Cristian Herrera, Mario Santamaría, Du-Da (Sarai Garcia, Belén Soto, Sonia G Villar and Clara Piazuelo), Martín Vitaliti, Anna Pascó and Ariadna Parreu.

Fifteen years promoting contemporary art

The Barcelona Producció programme began in 2006 as a way of incentivising production in contemporary artistic practices. With this initiative, La Capella supports the economic and production needs and the artistic community in Barcelona and its catchment area.
