Record attendance this summer at the Glòries 0–99 Play Area

In July and August, 5,554 people enjoyed the 0–99 Play Area in the Clariana section of Parc de les Glòries. Throughout the summer, the games kiosk offered board games to borrow, a giant wooden play area for young children, and a line-up of themed activities and sessions.

In addition, from June until the first week of September, the 0–99 Play Area adjusted its opening hours to accommodate the summer heat, opening on Fridays from 8 pm to midnight. One of the season’s main goals was to establish this new timetable, an objective achieved thanks to guided group activities such as sessions dedicated to Blood on the Clocktower, a hidden-role game that’s especially popular among young people and teenagers.

On Saturdays and Sundays, in collaboration with the Ludo Association, the Bring Us Your Prototype activity invited board game creators to showcase and test their designs.

More than 500 games in a 150 m² outdoor space

The 0–99 Play Area offers over 500 games for all ages to borrow. Open year-round from Friday to Sunday, the space occupies a 150 m² area around the kiosk with tables and chairs under parasols, as well as dedicated corners for playing the games available.

There’s also a team of play coordinators who create playful environments for all ages, providing guidance and support and encouraging shared play across generations and cultures. The space aims to provide an alternative, youth-friendly leisure activity that stimulates mental skills away from screens.

The 0–99 Play Area reclaims public space as a place to meet and connect, creating a focal point of community activity in the neighbourhood. For this reason, it is also made available to local organisations, schools, youth centres, esplais and caus across the city.
