More resources for salaries and contributions to public transport
The Full Council has given initial approval to two credit amendments for a total amount of 86.5 million euros, to be used for salary commitments for municipal staff and contributions to public transport. The measure was approved by the municipal government, Junts×BCN and the ERC, while Vox voted against it and Barcelona en Comú and the PP abstained.
On one hand the move approves the addenda to the funding agreement for the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) for 2025, with a sum of 50.1 million euros for maintenance and the discounts on ATM public transport pricing.
The second amendment will see 36.3 million euros used to cover additional staffing needs not included in the credit prolonged for the 2025 financial year. In all, 21.5 million will be used to cover the City Council workforce and 14.8 million for the rest of the municipal group and other bodies the City Council participates in.
These credit supplements will be funded with the carryover for general expenses (RLTDG) and involve a net increase of the extended budget for the same amount. With the initial approval now given, the announcement will be made in the BOPB and a public scrutiny period of fifteen days will be opened before the measures is definitively approved.
