Ludoteca Guitard: a more digital, accessible and inclusive play library
Located in the district of Les Corts, the Ludoteca Guitard has been transformed into a more digital accessible and inclusive play library through a new digital project by the Nexe Fundació, guaranteeing the accessibility of services and games for all children.
Thanks to this pilot project, each room at the centre features various pieces of integrating technology to help children with different disabilities and the families to play and participate.
The adaptation project consists of a variety of technologies, digital and accessible games and leisure elements, offering inclusive sensory experiences and fostering self-learning, socialisation and participation for all users at the play library.
The pilot project at the Ludoteca Guitard will last six months, with an assessment to be made of the impact of implementing accessible technology and the possibility of replicating this inclusive model in other public spaces.
In terms of inclusion, the project for this municipal facility was jointly developed by the District of Les Corts, the Area for 2030 Agenda and the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities, along with Mobile World Capital Barcelona, through the programme Digital Future Society.
The project forms part of the InnovAcció2030 initiative, the programme promoted by the Commissioner for 2030 Agenda, BSM and MWCapital, which backs the acceleration of social and sustainable urban innovation with technology as a basic tool for achieving the sustainable development goals.
