The prize from Barcelona Activa will help towards the development of the Comunicontent project, which focuses on the creation of podcasts for companies to transmit content according to their marketing strategies. The producer takes care of the whole process, from the idea through to the production and dissemination on podcast networks and media.

For its part, Glòria Mitjana’s Kukis Music will get mentoring from the Catalan Institute of Cultural Companies (ICEC) for its digital library project and teaching resources, aimed at children in infant and primary schooling. The library has 450 songs and teaching resources organised by ages and areas.

Out of the twelve projects making up the programme, the other finalists were Gorilla Games and Barri Media Lab. The first is a games studio specialising in 100% digital war games and opting for additive production (3D printing), while the second is an academy offering workshops in photography, audio-visuals, creative writing and the production of podcasts.

The Creamedia programme lasts six months and offers resources in leadership, digitalisation, connectivity and access to creative co-working at the Almogàvers business incubator. The programme also works on entrepreneurship, legal and tax matters, business plans, marketing plans and financial plans. In all, the 12 projects had 25 hours working on their business models in the Bootcamp, 78 hours of training (between online and face-to-face), 8 hours of tutoring for their project and the use of a new working space at the incubator for the full 180 days.

CREAmedia

Creamedia is a Barcelona Activa programme designed to boost the creative industries through support for enterprise and the creation of companies. The programme has been going for ten years and in the last five the emphasis has been on digitalisation, with specific support for projects at a business space at the Almogàvers incubator (located in the 22@ district). The sixteen previous editions saw 272 projects take part in all, with around 70% of initiatives from recent editions formally constituted as companies.

The 2021-2022 Creamedia programme was a joint effort between Barcelona Activa and the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC), the Fundació Catalunya Cultura, Audiovisual Producers of Catalonia (PAC), and the Fundació Carulla.
