Green points re-open, but with limited opening times

The city's green points are open again as from this Monday. The facilities help towards improving the recycling process and to preserving our environment. Green points are places where you can get rid of the waste you can’t throw away in the normal bins located on the street.

Area green points

These are large-scale environmental facilities located on the outskirts of the city. Although the service is free for individuals, it is particularly aimed at the commercial and services sector.

Neighbourhood green points

These environmental facilities are smaller in size and located within the urban layout. They are designed for smaller, domestic waste.

Items and materials accepted: clothing, footwear, ink cartridges, electric and electronic devices, cooking oil, electric cables, small tyres, aerosols and sprays, car batteries, cosmetics, x-rays, batteries, engine oil, paints and varnishes, fluorescent tubes and light bulbs, single-use coffee capsules (plastic and aluminium) etc.

Opening times are from 9 am to 2 pm (until further notice).

Mobile green points

These trucks perform all the functions of a green point. They stop at different places in the city at particular times, so they are closer to the public.

Items and materials accepted: clothing, footwear, ink cartridges, electric and electronic devices, cooking oil, electric cables, small tyres, aerosols and sprays, car batteries, cosmetics, x-rays, batteries, engine oil, paints and varnishes, fluorescent tubes and light bulbs, single-use coffee capsules (plastic and aluminium) etc.

Opening times are from 9 am to 2 pm (until further notice) and service will only be provided at stops with morning times.

To ensure the safety of staff and the public, access to facilities will be controlled and users are advised to wear face masks and gloves.

While the current situation continues, the book exchange service at neighbourhood green points will be inoperative and no new TMTR user card applications will be processed. No communication materials will be distributed either.
