The conference is being held at the UPF’s Poblenou Campus and will be free to access and open to the general public, with a programme based around four topics and four questions for which proposals, answers, theories and practices will be sought:

  • Loneliness and technology: how can new technologies help combat loneliness?
  • Loneliness and life cycles: how do people experience loneliness during their life?
  • Loneliness and cities: what should cities be like to help strengthen ties?
  • Loneliness and public policies: what can institutions do to combat loneliness?

The conference is being organised within the framework of the Municipal Strategy against Loneliness 2020-2030 and is also part of a communication campaign to destigmatise loneliness and raise public awareness among people of all ages.
