Measures against Covid-19 in Barcelona based on the resolution approved by PROCICAT
New measures have been established based on the resolution approved by Catalonia’s civil protection plan (PROCICAT) to avoid the spread of Covid-19 in the city. People should be extra cautious and reduce social gatherings, as well as maintaining prevention measures: frequent handwashing, safety distances and face masks at all times.
The new measures against Covid-19 in the city include:
Reduction in social gatherings
Gatherings of more than six people are prohibited in public and in private.
Shops and eateries
All establishments must step up prevention and hygiene measures inside their premises.
Libraries and museums
Libraries and museums are open.
Summer camps and activity programmes
Summer camps and activity programmes are still operating.
Public transport
The metro closes at midnight at the weekends.
Cemeteries
Burials, cremations and farewell ceremonies are restricted to a third of their usual attendance capacities
Nightlife venues (discos, party venues, with shows etc.)
Closed.
Cultural activities: performing arts, cinemas and music
Cinemas, exhibition halls, theatres, circus marquees and similar indoor or outdoor venues can open with capacity limited to 50%.
Sports and recreational activities
Open-air swimming pools, amusement parks, children’s parks, gyms and sports facilities can open with capacity limited to 50%.
Duration of measures
The measures are set out in the two resolutions now in place having been published in the official state gazette and validated by the judicial authority. Initially, the measures will be in place for fifteen days.
