From 22 to 24 September, the third edition of the Terra i Gust Sustainable Food Fair will take place as part of the festivities for the 2023 edition of the La Mercè. You’re invited to have fun and take advantage of opportunities to enjoy good food and drink with a greater awareness of, and respect for, people and the planet.

This year, the fair will be held for the first time at the Parc de la Ciutadella, and it is expanding to include more dishes and culinary creations: a total of fourteen renowned city restaurants that follow the principles of sustainable, healthy and seasonal food will be featured. You’ll also find a wider offering of artisanal food and drink.

Featured activities

The activity space will offer cooking shows, workshops and games all visitors can enjoy, as well as tastings and talks that will help you learn how to change your habits and discover the culinary world through sustainable practices, without giving up the pleasure of good food.

Events include the award ceremony for Slow Food Barcelona’s Culinary Responsibility Awards, as well as cooking, composting and re-use workshops for the whole family, led by local organisations such as Cap a Mar, Eixarcolant and Cuinant Cultures. There will also be cooking shows with Pere Carrió, chef of Gat Blau, Barcelona’s best sustainable restaurant in 2021, the Cuineres i Cuiners km0 de Catalunya; group, students from the Escola d’Hoteleria i Turisme, and Mònica Escudero, chef and culinary reporter for El Comidista.

There will also be a Responsible Consumption Space information point, where you can learn more about sustainable food and how to make it a larger part of your daily life.

A space for music

Music will also be one of the stars of the fair, with different performances at each time of day. Concerts to complement midday aperitifs, plus live music for your afternoon enjoyment and catchy rhythms that will get you dancing in the evening.

2030 Strategy

Terra i Gust is part of the city’s commitment to transforming the current food system into a more healthy and sustainable model. The road map for achieving this goal is the Barcelona Healthy and Sustainable Food Strategy for 2030, an agreement reached among all the local players in the food chain.
