Ajuntament de Barcelona

On 23, 24, 30 and 31 October and 6 and 7 November, Cementiris de Barcelona will be increasing the service offered at their offices in the cemeteries of Montjuïc, Collserola, Sant Andreu, Poblenou and Les Corts, to handle any sort of enquiry or procedure. On 1 November, all cemeteries will be operating services from 8 am to 5.30 pm.

Prevention measures recommended by the health authorities continue to apply at cemeteries, and so people are encouraged to bring forward visits to avoid queues at entrances and make for a more intimate visit.

Extra bus services

TMB will also be laying on extra services to get to the cemeteries in Montjuïc and Collserola over these dates. In Montjuïc there will be extra services on route 21 (Paral·lel – Prat) on 24 and 31 October and 1 November, and on route 107, which follows the route inside the cemetery, from 23 October to 1 November.

A special shuttle service will also be running between Pl. Espanya and Porta de Sant Lluís on 1 November. To get to the cemetery in Collserola, extra services will be provided on routes 102 (Pl. Eivissa) from 23 October to 1 November and 104 (Fabra i Puig) on 23, 24, 30 and 31 October and 1 November.

Cultural activities

Cementiris de Barcelona is offering various ceremonies and cultural activities for All Saints Day, such as the mass for the deceased, conducted by the bishop Javier Vilanova at the Poblenou cemetery on 1 November, at 1 pm, in memory of those who die alone.

The Collection of Funeral Carriages at Montjuïc Cemetery, which is offering a new interactive virtual visit, will be open to the public from 10 am to 2 pm, coinciding with All Saints Day. The same day also sees the sound art activity Èxit, an acoustic intervention by Vicens Vacca and Jordi Soley.

At the cemetery in Sant Andreu, just behind the bell tower, a communal Mexican altar will be installed in memory of all those who have passed away with Covid-19. The altar can be visited on 1 and 2 November during the cemetery’s opening hours.

On 5 November, the cemetery in Poblenou will be offering a free screening of the animated film Coco. There will also be a chance to enjoy other small-format activities, taste Mexican products in the outside square at the cemetery and take part in workshops for people of all ages. Anybody wishing to take part in this activity should book by sending an email to comunicacio@cbsa.cat.
