Thirtieth anniversary of the Advisory Council for the Elderly

The Advisory Council for the Elderly marks its thirtieth anniversary as a participatory body for the city’s senior citizens. To highlight its work, which has helped to improve the well-being and quality of life of elderly people in the city, a mural by the artists Elisa Capdevila and Miquel Wert was inaugurated in the Parc del Camp de l’Arpa.

Located on the corner of Av. Meridiana and Carrer de Trinxant, the mural symbolically illustrates the decent treatment of senior citizens, the defence of equality and the struggle to combat loneliness, along with activism and the collective and intergenerational advance towards an ageing-friendly city.

The other events planned to mark the anniversary of the advisory council are the music show Barbián, by Rodrigo Cuevas at the Casino l’Aliança in Poblenou on 15 October, and a debate on the defence of the rights and freedoms of elderly people, on 10 November.
