For Sant Jordi, from blood flows…life
Two Barcelona libraries, in Poblenou and Sagrada Família, are organising a day for people to give blood on Tuesday 23 April.
The two municipal libraries taking part in the day are the Biblioteca Poblenou – Manuel Arranz, in Can Saladrigas, and the Biblioteca Sagrada Família – Josep M. Ainaud de Lasarte. Blood can be donated at both libraries from 10 am to 1.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8 pm.
The donation day is being organised by the Blood and Tissue Bank, the city’s library network and Barcelona City Council.
And as the legend describes how a red rose grew from the blood of the dragon, donors will get a rose and a bookmark in recognition of their act of solidarity.
