Beaches open for walks between 6 am and 8 pm

The city’s beaches are open for longer hours as from Wednesday, 20 May, with access allowed between 6 am and 8 pm. The ban on recreational bathing continues. The parks in the city which were still closed will also be opening, including Park Güell.

What’s allowed at Barcelona’s beaches?

  • People living within one kilometre of the beach can go there to walk during the times slots for different ages established in the current lockdown exit stage.
  • People from anywhere in the city can get exercise there and do water sports alone between 6 am and 10 am.
  • Professional and federated sportspeople with licences can also train between 8 pm and 11 pm at the area on Bogatell beach.​ Surfing is also allowed at the Bogatell beach during these times.

What’s not allowed at the beaches?

  • Recreational bathing
  • Recreational fishing from the shore
  • Children’s play areas and sports zones are still closed

All city parks open

As from Wednesday, 20 May, the parks in the city which were still closed will also be opening, including Park Güell and Turó Park, making a total of 146 parks for people to walk and do sports in. The four parks in the city with schools in them will open up access points from Tuesday for families wishing to pre-enrol children.

When are the parks open?

  • A total of 21 parks have moved their opening times forward to 8 am to make it easier for people to do sports.
  • The rest of the parks open from 10 am to 9 pm.
  • Park Güell is opening again for walks and sport, but cultural visits are still suspended.
  • Access to children’s play areas and picnic areas is not permitted.
