Vincles BCN goes citywide

El programa, destinat a pal·liar la solitud emocional i social de persones més grans de 65 anys, arriba aquest mes de març als 73 barris de la ciutat. La previsió és arribar a les 1.100 persones usuàries a la tardor.

The Vincles BCN app was started with the aim of helping elderly people connect with those around them and lead an active life. The service also aims to help bridge the digital divide, which particularly affects the over 65s.

The app allows users to take part in videoconferences, receive messages from City Council services which are of interest, access information about those around them and more.

At present, 464 people over 65 are using the Vincles programme, already operative in the districts of L’Eixample and Sant Martí.

Training for users

Over 2,000 elderly people have received training on the use of mobile devices since November as part of the Vincles project. The training is possible thanks to collaboration with Secotbcn and Fundació Vodafone España.
