Extra space is being created for pedestrians in C/ Consell de Cent, between C/ Comte d’Urgell and Passeig de Gràcia.

The work involves widening the pavement by four metres (using part of the road surface, delimited with lines painted on the ground) and reducing traffic to just one 30 km/h lane.

The work will take ten days.

Towards a more efficient bus service

The physical segregation of bus lanes will prevent encroachment by other vehicles and help buses to circulate easily.

Separations will be installed in the coming days in Pla de Palau with Av. Marquès de l’Argentera, and in Passeig de Gràcia, between C/ Roselló and Av. Diagonal.

Improvements will also be made to bus lanes in Via Favència, C/ Balmes and C/ Espronceda.

Safety distances for bikes too

New pedalable corridors will enable cyclists to maintain safety distances. Specifically, a traffic lane will be reserved for bicycles to use.

First routes

  • C/ València, between Av. Roma and Av. Diagonal.
  • C/ Pau Claris, between Av. Diagonal and Pl. Urquinaona.
  • C/ Roger de Llúria.

The rest of the measures set out in the plan to adapt public space will be executed in May. The plan is set to generate an additional 30,000 square metres of pedestrian space, make 17 improvements to bus lanes and create 21 kilometres of cycling corridors.
