Organised by the Barcelona Institute of Sports, the event consists of four sports disciplines: swimming, cycling, running and a culminating spinning masterclass in the esplanade in front of the Palau Sant Jordi. Some 600 athletes are expected to take part.

Swimmer Mireia Belmonte, cyclist Miguel Induráin and marathon runner Martín Fiz will be the ambassadors for the event.

Sport with full health guarantees

The event has been designed to ensure all public health and safety measures. Participants will choose when they start, and which categories they compete in. Physical distances between people are guaranteed and hand sanitiser and face masks will be available in all sections. There will also be a cloakroom service at each start point and technical staff will be equipped with the necessary safety materials.

A triathlon to fight Covid-19

Profits from registration fees for athletes taking part in the multi-disciplinary event ‘1, 2, 3, a remuntar Barcelona’ will be used in the fight against Covid-19, headed by the Hospital del Mar, which is making progress with research and the development of efficient ways of diagnosing and treating Covid-19 patients, particularly the worst cases.
