The revamp is set to transform the northern half of the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood, specifically the area between the streets of Via de Barcino, Vicenç Montal, Pare Pérez del Pulgar, La Foradada and Mare de Déu de Lorda.

Work will be carried out in:

  • 11,170 m2 of urban land
  • 22,533 m2 of roads and green areas
  • 75 buildings, with 464 homes and 50 commercial premises

Barcelona City Council will be investing 35 million euros to:

  • Renovate residential buildings so they offer optimum functionalities, comfort and living conditions. This includes work on thermal and acoustic insulation for façades and rooftops.
  • Foster the generation of green energy in housing and in public space, with the installation of solar panelling on rooftops.
  • Recondition public space to update streets and provide local people with a quality new urban environment which invites them to be active there. Work will be done on the green strip between the neighbourhood and the Nus de la Trinitat road intersection, turning it into a place for walking, doing sports and spending more time. The layout of the old Rec Comtal water supply channel will also be recovered.

Working with local people

Barcelona City Council will work with owner/tenant communities to facilitate the urban regeneration programme and define the renovation agreements for residential buildings. Work will start in 2022 and should conclude in 2030.
