The Clariana de les Glòries consolidates its role as an outdoor public space

The large grassy clearing covering a hectare in the Parc de les Glòries is a multi-purpose space where people can relax and enjoy nature. Over 100.000 people have visited this spot since it opened to the public last year.

The Clariana de les Glòries invites people to relax, chat, read or work in peace, with a service offering deckchairs, tables, chairs and parasols. The service opened in September 2021 and is managed by the labour insertion company Formació i Treball, which also promotes information on future activities and how the park and its environs work. The service operates every day from 11 am to 8 pm between April and October, and from 11 am to 7 pm from November to March.

In addition, the site has been offering a programme of free activities for children, families and the elderly since March, with over 2.500 people having taken part. The aim is to highlight the green spaces and biodiversity nodes in the park, promote educational and informative play activities, as well as cultural activities and small-format workshops to explain and place value on the surroundings. The following activities are offered:

  • Storytelling, organised by the Biblioteca del Clot
  • Circus workshop
  • Theatre workshop
  • Drawing and painting workshop
  • Environmental activities, in collaboration with the Barcelona Network of Environmental Facilities (XEAB)
  • Yoga with the family, organised by the community centre La Farinera del Clot
  • Tai-chi sessions
  • Routes around the area of the Clariana: a route to discover greenery and biodiversity, another to discover the sustainability of the Parc de les Glòries (both organised by the XEAB), and the historical route “Glòries, its secrets and its history” (organised by La Farinera del Clot).
