Following a four-month hiatus due to a fungal infection affecting many of its documentary collections, we are pleased to announce that, after carrying out the necessary disinfection and cleaning work, the Sants-Montjuïc District Municipal Archives have now reopened to provide their usual services.

This work has involved identifying and disinfecting the infected boxes and cleaning the premises, including the storage rooms, reading room and work rooms. Professional conservation and restoration teams, cleaners and the Municipal Archives’ own workers were all brought in to help. A total of 22,000 boxes of documents, as well as other items kept at the facility that have been donated over the years, were treated.

The usual opening hours of 9 am to 2 pm from Monday to Friday (by appointment) have now been restored at the Sants-Montjuïc District Municipal Archives.
