The neighbourhood of Barceloneta, in Ciutat Vella, is organising various activities for the last weekend in April. The neighbourhood’s spring festivities are an intense affair, coming after a week which also included Sant Jordi’s Day. On Friday afternoon the local play library will be open for families with young children between the ages of 4 and 8, while the library, the Biblioteca Barceloneta – La Fraternitat, will be presenting the book Barnarracions, with stories focusing on Barceloneta, the Gòtic neighbourhood, El Raval and the Estació de França.

The Barceloneta community centre is hosting a talk and a workshop on Saturday morning at 10.30 am to promote fish among neighbourhood consumers, while at 5 pm a teepee will be set up in Plaça del Poeta Boscà for young children to play in, share and listen to stories and enjoy an afternoon snack. The celebrations continue on Thursday 2 May with an event devoted to traditional games. For the full programme click here.
